Mon. July 29 – The man found dead on the first floor of the Bryant Street garage on Thursday was murdered, Palo Alto Police confirmed today.
James Allen Rudoph, 60, died due to blunt-force trauma, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner. The man has not been identified by the coroner’s office yet.
Police say they are continuing to “examine all possibilities” as to who is responsible for the man’s death.
Thurs. July 26 – Around noon today (July 26), a passerby reported finding a deceased man on the first floor of the Bryant Street garage, according to Palo Alto Police.
Officers who responded to the call found a homeless man in his 60s and said initial evidence found at the scene indicates the man’s death was “suspicious,” according to a statement from Capt. James Reifschneider.
Police have not determined the manner of death for the man, and are working with the Santa C;ara County Medical Examiner-Corner’s office on the investigation.
For most of the day, the 400 blocks of Florence and Bryant are closed. The lot is referred to as “Lot S” and is between University and Lytton avenues.
Within the garage, the police have blocked off an area to the right of the public parking entrance.
