Local House members, candidates avoid Biden question

President Biden in a debate on June 27.

The Mid-Peninsula’s two members of the House and both candidates for Anna Eshoo’s congressional seat won’t say if they think President Biden should stay in the race for president.

Assemblyman Evan Low’s campaign has ignored questions about Biden.

A spokesman for former San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said yesterday that Liccardo wouldn’t be commenting on the president.

Low, 41, and Liccardo, 54, both Democrats, are running to replace Eshoo, who has represented Palo Alto for the last 30 years.

Neither Eshoo, 81, nor Congressman Kevin Mullin, 54, returned requests for comment about Biden’s future. Mullin represents northern San Mateo County in Congress.
