Enjoy Sunset Strolls, Live Music at Filoli This Summer

Filoli

Want to watch the sun set over one of the Peninsula’s most beautiful gardens? Or enjoy an outdoor concert in the meadow? Check out Summer Nights and Summer Stage offerings at Filoli over the next few months.

The Summer Nights will be offered Wednesday and Thursday evenings from June 12 through Sept. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m., three hours after the Woodside estate normally closes to visitors. Stroll the gardens, smell the roses and enjoy the sunset. You can do so with a drink in hand from Filoli’s bar or relax on the lawn with offerings from the rotating selection of food trucks they’ll be hosting. Local musicians will play acoustic tunes, and Filoli’s Quail Cafe will also be open for charcuterie and other delicious eats. (Filoli allows bringing picnic blankets to lounge on the lawn, and the Garden has chairs and benches for their guests. No outside chairs are allowed.)

From entertainment to new blooms in the garden, every week will bring something new to enjoy, so it’s something you can come to again and again.

Those looking for a more active evening can hike the trails at twilight, visit with a horticulturist at their pop-up learning spot, or attend a free garden talk with staff. And right now is an especially exciting time in the gardens, with rose season in full bloom.

While the Summer Nights will host acoustic tunes, those looking for a dynamic performance should check out the lineup for their upcoming Summer Stage series of performances. Get your tickets early, because these concerts are really popular. Sunday, Aug. 18 will see Alex Mendham & His Orchestra present the swinging, jazzy glamour of Hollywood’s golden age, while The Outlaw Mariachi Band will play their unique blend of Mariachi and power rock at the estate on Tuesday, Aug. 20. More nights will be announced soon, so keep an eye on filoli.org for more information.

You can also upgrade your Summer Stage experience with VIP tickets that include seating and complimentary charcuterie and drinks.

Summer Nights are very popular and buying tickets in advance online is recommended, as many do sell out. Adult general admission is $38 a person, with discounts available for kids and seniors.
