4 arrests made in Christmas shooting; 6-year-old boy was one victim

SWAT teams raided the homes of a 20-year-old, an 18-year-old and two juveniles in Mountain View in connection with a shooting that hit and injured a 6-year-old child on Christmas.

Tristen Villanueva, 18, of Mountain View, was arrested for robbery and felony assault. The other three suspects were arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime and being in a gang, police said.

The group is associated with a robbery of a necklace at a 7-Eleven at 1905 Latham St., police said. The robbery happened on Christmas morning.

The 6-year-old boy was shot in his lower body in an apartment on the 900 block of Clark Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 25.

Another man was injured too, but police spokeswoman Katie Nelson wouldn’t say if he was shot or injured in another way.

Villanueva and Gilbert Murillo, 20, of Mountain View, haven’t been charged yet, so the police report wasn’t available yesterday. They were at the Elmwood Jail in Milpitas without bail yesterday, according to the jail database.

The identities of two arrested juveniles are confidential, police said. Officers from Campbell, Los Altos and Sunnyvale helped execute search warrants on Wednesday at 8 a.m.
Arrests were made on Del Medio Court, the 1900 block of Latham Street and the 200 block of Calderon Avenue, police said.

Officers also searched a house on Ottawa Court in Sunnyvale.
