Christa Hassun, 83 of Menlo Park, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2023 surrounded by close family.
Christal was born on July 19th, 1939 to Franz and Martha Hoheneder in Heilbronn Germany. Inspired by an American WWII soldier passing out chocolates to the village children, she vowed to visit his country. In 1966, she married the love of her life Roland Hassun, and they planted their roots in California.
Her passion and appreciation for the finer things in life, fueled by her entrepreneurial ambitions, propelled her to establish multiple businesses throughout the Bay Area. “The Eclectic Collector”, “Estate Sales Showroom”, and “Atherton Antiques and Consignments”. Christal had a sharp eye for finding quality, unusual, and one of kind treasures, much like herself. She embodied Genuine Class, Grace, and Elegance from head to toe.
She is survived by her daughters Julie Cheryl Walters and Sheila Jenkins; grandchildren Joy, Julie, Justin, and Jennifer Williams; and great grandchildren Priest Owens, Liliana, and Miliano Andino.
Christal was a pillar of healing and light, a source of strength and wisdom, and a selfless fountain of pure, unconditional love to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed, as she is now released from a well loved body that could no longer support her Amazing Spirit.
We are eternally grateful to have been loved by her and will cherish her memory throughout our lives. We will see you again~ “Over the Rainbow”.
