Stanford settled a lawsuit yesterday (Aug. 27) with seven female student-athletes who sued the university in May for cutting 11 varsity sports teams and furthering the university’s sex-based discrimination.
Although the cuts were reversed shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the attorneys for the student-athletes argued more information about the school’s Title IX compliance was needed.
