Palo Alto police have released surveillance video of a suspect who aggressively groped a woman last week on a residential portion of University Avenue. Police also obtained an image of the man’s vehicle.
The man jumped out of his car to grope the woman at 9:03 p.m. on June 24 in the 1200 block of University Avenue.
The suspect was driving east on University when he stopped his car at Marlowe Street and got out.
He allegedly approached a woman in her 20s from behind and grabbed her breasts, buttocks and groin, then was chased away from the victim back to his vehicle. He fled the area west on University, police said.
According to police, the suspect is a Hispanic or Polynesian man between 23 to 30 years old who has a medium build and is of medium height.
He was wearing a T-shirt, cargo shorts and a baseball hat, and was driving a 2006 to 2012 Audi A4 or A6 with a sunroof and no tint on the windows. The car had California license plates.
Police said the video of the suspect shows him moments before he groped the victim.
Anyone with information about the sexual battery is asked to call police at (650) 329-2413.

The police waited a week to put this out? Pretty low priority for the cops. What’s up with that?
