A homeless man wrapped in plastic was run over by a truck early this morning on Pulgas Avenue in East Palo Alto, police said.

The 47-year-old man has not yet been identified.

At 6:55 a.m., police went to the 2400 block of Pulgas on a report of a man down in the street. Police said a preliminary investigation showed that a 47-year-old
man was wrapped in plastic and towels and sleeping on an abandoned mattress on Pulgas Avenue when a truck ran over him.

The truck hit the man at 6:35 a.m. and he died where he was hit, a statement from Lt. Jeff Liu said.

Police said they have located the truck involved in the man’s death and they are investigating the death as a traffic accident.
