A vehicle fire forced the shutdown of Willow Road at the overpass above Highway 101 at 3:22 p.m. today (Aug. 15), the Menlo Park Fire Protection District reports.

Initially, both directions were blocked by police to allow firefighters to combat the vehicle, which was engulfed in fire, Chief Harold Schapelhouman reports.

At 4 p.m., the westbound lanes of Willow were open and the fire was under control. Eastbound traffic is being diverted to southbound Highway 101.
