Patricia Harrington Greene

August 13, 1954 – December 26, 2021

Patricia Harrington Greene (aka Patty) a long-time resident of Palo Alto/Menlo Park/Atherton passed away peacefully on 26 December. Patty, age 67, left us for Heaven in the same way she lived her life. With peace, dignity, beauty and inspiration. She left us as a result of complications from a rare neurological disease that came on her 8 years ago. Patty was surrounded by her immediate family, close friends and loving caregivers from The Kensington in Redwood City.

Patty was born in San Mateo, lived through her teenage years in Southern California, then made her way back to the Bay Area. First as an undergraduate at Santa Clara University followed by earning her MBA at Santa Clara University as well. She went on to have a successful career in business primarily with technology companies here in Silicon Valley. Her last company being Adobe Systems.

Patty was a beautiful human being, both inside and out. She lit up a room on entry with her sparkling blue Irish eyes. She brought positivity and energy to every interaction in her life – as a mom, as a daughter, as a sister, as a wife, as a business executive and so much more. She lived and loved with every ounce of her being and made everyone she met feel special. Hers was an exuberant spirit and she had a smile that melted your heart.

Patty loved traveling, learning and feeding her insatiable appetite for the ‘new’ – experiences, people, music, dance, art and so much more. She also loved her time in the many groups where she was an active member. Common to each of these groups were good friends, Christianity, being a mom, being a volunteer and of course good food and wine. This all brought joy to her. Yet, the truest joy in her life was being a mom. Being the mom to her daughter Katie was Patty’s greatest passion, priority and commitment.

This wrenching disease robbed her of her beautiful persona far too soon. However, to her last breath, she never lost her kindness and her ability to touch the hearts and souls of others. Patty’s legacy will be her love for and care of family and friends. She is no longer with us on earth yet will forever be in the hearts of those that knew her. And for that, we are blessed and fortunate.

Patty is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Katie, sister Gail Miller, sister-in-laws Suzy Bickers and Simonne O’Grady Greene, brother-in-laws Charles Greene and Greg Miller, along with several nieces and nephews and of course the family dog Cody.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Jewel Harrington and her brother Bob Harrington.

A funeral mass for Patty will be held on 12 January at 11am. St. Denis Catholic Church. Menlo Park. In lieu of flowers, we ask a donation is made on Patty’s behalf to UCSF Memory and Aging Center.

  3. Gail, I just heard about Patty’s passing through Adobe folks.I am so sorry for your loss. I was happy to read she was a mother as I knew she really wanted to be a parent. I left Adobe in the mid 90s so it’s been a long time. My prayers are with your family and hope you find comfort in happy memories. I
