Clothing boutique Bryn Walker will be closing its shop at 212 Homer Ave. in Palo Alto for good on Sunday (Feb. 2).
Store manager Diane Kelley said she is grateful for the support the store has had in Palo Alto and will miss the “great” customers.
“(This is) the fate of retail I guess,” she said.
Bryn Walker has been in Palo Alto for 22 years. It was previously located on Cowper Street but has been on Homer for five years. The store sells loose-fitting, colorful clothes for women.
There are eight other stores in the country, including two in Berkeley where the company started.
A farewell email from the store this week says that the company is trying to make online shopping available.
Bryn Walker is joining a number of businesses that have closed shop in Palo Alto in recent months.
Ambassador Toys is closing its location at the Town & Country Village Shopping Center. The House of Foam which sold mattresses on Hamilton Ave. closed earlier this month and the Maximart Pharmacy on Cambridge Ave. closed last month.
Numerous eateries, including Pluto’s and Pete’s Coffee on University Ave., have also shut their doors.
