Alf Eugene Hagglof

April 25, 1933 – December 25, 2019

Alf Eugene Hagglof was born on April 25, 1933 in Jacobstad, Finland to Tor and Ireme Hagglof, passed away on Christmas evening, 2019.

He graduated from Nykarleby Samskola in Nykarleby, Finland. With his mother and brother Jorgen, they moved to the U.S. in 1951. Being sponsored by and lived with his Aunt Aina and Uncle Jarl Molin in California. He proceeded to pick up many work trades. Working with his Uncle Andy Fors as an apprentice, he eventually became a painting contractor.

He married Britta Santoff in 1956 and were married until her death in 2006. They had 2 daughters Terri Paul and Lisa Scott. He enjoyed skiing, bowling, camping, fishing, golfing, and mostly spending retirement with his wife, Britta, and grandchildren on their boat on Lake Berryessa.

He was a longtime member of the Palo Alto Elks Lodge #1471. He enjoyed watching the 49ers and Giants. He had been living with his daughter Lisa in the Seattle area for the last 4 years. During that time, he was able to spend time with his 2 great grandchildren.

At his request, no service will be held. A private family burial will be held this spring.

  1. So sorry for the loss of your beloved Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. I meet Alf when was 18 and had became good friends with Daughter Terry and her little sister Lisa. He was always so kind to me. He will truly be missed.
