A neighbor called 911 to report seeing three men wearing black hoodies and yellow surgical masks run from a house in the 2000 block of Stockbridge Avenue in unincorporated Redwood City.
It happened at Monday (Dec. 30) at 5:30 p.m., according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The neighbor said the three masked men jumped into a dark Dodge Caravan with tinted windows and sped off.
The van headed east on Stockbridge, south onto Santa Clara Avenue and west on Woodside Road, where the witness lost sight of the vehicle.
A few minutes later, deputies were told an alarm went off at the same residence. deputies found a shattered rear glass door.
The homeowner returned home and found nothing had been stolen.
Deputies are asking anyone in the area with security cameras to review their video from Monday at 5:30 and look for any possible evidence.
The sheriff’s office, in a statement, said it is grateful for the alert witness who provided the information about the burglary.
