School district may use lottery to fill middle school

In an effort to stave off declining enrollment, Palo Alto middle schoolers may be able to enter into a lottery to attend Fletcher Middle School next year, allowing them to go to a smaller school that feeds into Gunn High School.

The lottery would take place before spring break for families who opt in and live outside of the school’s boundaries.
