Los Altos will give $5,000 grants to small businesses using a lottery system.

City Manager Chris Jordan will give council an update on the plan at their meeting next Tuesday (May 26).

The city’s business relief fund currently has $250,000 that was allocated by City Council.

Businesses with less than 25 employees will be able to submit an application between May 26 and 5 p.m. on June 9. Only restaurants, retailers or personal service businesses are eligible.

The lottery will be held on June 15 and checks will be issued on June 29. Grantees will have to update the city in July on how the funds were used.
