Thief takes automated defibrillator from park bathroom

An automated external defibrillator like this one was stolen from a public bathroom in Byxbee Park in Palo Alto.

Someone stole an AED from a public bathroom at Byxbee Park in the Palo Alto Baylands, police said.

An automated external defibrillator is a portable electric device used to help people having heart problems.

Sgt. Eric Bulatao said the stolen AED was worth $740.

He said the theft happened sometime on the evening or March 28th or the morning of March 29th. It was reported on April 3. He said there was no report of a forceful break-in at the bathroom at 2375 Embarcadero Road.
