Palo Alto police have arrested a man they say was peeping into the windows of apartment complex on Los Robles Avenue, focusing on families where young girls lived.

Arrested was Michael Fields, 43, of Fremont.

On Friday (Aug. 2) at 2 p.m., police got a call about a man prowling in the 600 block of Los Robles Avenue. Police investigated and determined he had been peeping into windows of an apartment complex during the overnight hours.

“The suspect focused on windows occupied by families where young girls lived,” police said in a statement.

Police said that video surveillance showed the suspect peeping into windows more than a dozen times between July 15 and Aug. 7. On at least one occasion, the suspect pleasured himself while he was peeping, police said.

Police obtained an arrest warrant. They discovered that Fields had previously lived in those apartments.

He was arrested on Wednesday (Aug. 7) and booked into jail on charges of lewd conduct in a public place and peeping and prowling, all misdemeanors. He’s since been released on bail.
