The Atherton City Council tomorrow (Wednesday, April 17) will discuss whether to go forward with plans to add stoplights or roundabouts along Alameda de las Pulgas and Valparaiso Avenue.

For nearly two years, consultants for the town have been studying ways to reduce cut-through traffic and get traffic flowing on Alameda de las Pulgas.

Stoplights or roundabouts could be added along Alameda de las Pulgas at Stockbridge and Atherton avenues, recommends a report from Advanced Mobility Group.

A stoplight may also be added along Alameda de las Pulgas at Camino al Lago, which would replace the current stoplight some 200 feet away.

Stoplights may also be added along Valparaiso at Elena or Emilie avenues, which borders Sacred Heart.

The council will be asked to provide input on what projects the town ought to pursue or drop.

The council meets tomorrow (April 17) at 7 p.m., 94 Ashfield Road.

  1. It’s funny you used a picture of the infamous Ross/meadow roundabout to illustrate this story. Things didn’t work out too well there.
