Pedestrian killed by car near Googleplex

Mountain View police tweeted out this map showing where the fatal accident took place in Mountain View.

A pedestrian was killed Monday night (Nov. 5) after she was hit by a vehicle near the Google headquarters in Mountain View.

The accident was reported at about 6:45 p.m. at Charleston Road and Huff Avenue.

Initially police said the woman was seriously injured, but a couple of hours later, she died.

“It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that this is now a fatal collision,” police said on Twitter. “Our traffic team is responding to the scene to take over the investigation.”

The street was closed to traffic for the rest of the evening.

The woman’s identity was not released Monday night.
