An East Palo Alto teen was arrested after allegedly breaking into cars in San Carlos, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said yesterday.

Residents saw Moses Ahomana, 18, and another man looking into cars around 2:30 a.m. Monday on the 700 block of Elm Street, according to Detective Rosemerry Blankswade.

When deputies responded, they saw Ahomana and the other man exiting the backyard of a home, according to Blankswade.

The deputy chased the two and was able to catch and arrest Ahomana. He was in possession of a burglary tool and stolen property, according to Blankswade.

Ahomana was arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools, resisting a police officer, petty theft and receiving stolen property. He is in jail on $7,500 bail.

  1. What exactly were the burglar tools? I’ve heard that police can arrest for “burglary tools” you if you have a screwdriver.
